Romeo y Julieta in Morocco: The Official Price of Every Vitola

By the CIGARA house, published

Romeo y Julieta is the historic gateway to the Havana in Morocco: 26 approved references, from the Coronitas en cedro at 60 DH to the Nobles at 700 DH, and the Cuban brand you will most often find outside the official shops, in a tube, in the tobacconists of the three big cities. Founded in 1875 in Havana by Inocencio Álvarez and Manín García, made famous from 1903 by Pepín Rodríguez, it owes its most famous vitola to its most famous customer: the Churchills, named after Winston Churchill. Here is its complete Moroccan range, line by line, per stick, per box and in tubes.

What “official price” means here

In Morocco, the price of a Romeo y Julieta is not negotiated: it is set by decree, published by customs circular and identical across the official channel, from Rabat to Marrakech. The wave of increases of 1 April 2026 raised most vitolas by 10 DH — the Coronas went from 140 to 150 DH, the Churchills from 330 to 340 DH — while sparing six of them. The prices below are those in force since April, with the January tariff alongside wherever it changed; our full price list sets the brand among the other houses, and our Cohiba, Montecristo and Partagas guides give the neighbouring lists. All prices are per stick, which you can buy as such at the counter.

The small formats and the classics

Vitola Per stick January 2026 Box
Coronitas en cedro 60 DH 57 DH 25
Julieta 100 DH unchanged 25
Cedros de Luxe No. 3 130 DH unchanged 25
Petit Churchills 140 DH 130 DH 25
Coronas 150 DH 140 DH 25
Exhibicion No. 3 155 DH 145 DH 25
Cedros de Luxe No. 2 170 DH unchanged 25
Exhibicion No. 4 190 DH 180 DH 25
Belicosos 220 DH unchanged 25

Three landmarks. The Coronitas en cedro at 60 DH, a slim panetela rolled in its cedar leaf, is the cheapest Romeo y Julieta on the list on the cigar side; the Julieta at 100 DH, slimmer still, is a half-hour. The Coronas at 150 DH is the brand’s initiation cigar, a 45-minute corona, mild to medium, the most consistent in the range and one of the most widespread Havanas in the country. The Cedros de Luxe, wrapped in a cedar leaf, and the Exhibicion, thicker, are its variations in format; the Belicosos at 220 DH, with its pointed head, is the brand’s only figurado under 300 DH.

The Línea Romeo: three tubes for the pocket

Vitola Per stick January 2026 Box
Romeo No. 3 (tube) 130 DH 120 DH 25 or 10
Romeo No. 2 (tube) 140 DH 130 DH 25 or 10
Romeo No. 1 (tube) 150 DH 140 DH 25 or 10

Three short vitolas in an aluminium tube, sold by the stick in most serious tobacconists in the kingdom: these are the cigars many Moroccan enthusiasts smoked their first Havana with. The No. 3 is the shortest, half an hour; the No. 1, a 45-minute petit corona. The tube protects the cigar on the move, a real argument under the Moroccan climate.

The Churchill family

Vitola Per stick January 2026 Box
Short Churchill 250 DH 240 DH 25
Wide Churchills 260 DH 250 DH 25, 15 or 10
Short Churchill (tube) 280 DH 270 DH 15
Wide Churchills (tube) 280 DH 270 DH 15
Churchills 340 DH 330 DH 25
Churchills (tube) 360 DH 350 DH 25 or 10

The Churchills at 340 DH is the cigar that gave the format its name: a julieta of nearly 18 centimetres, an hour and a half of smoking, the oldest vitola in the catalogue. The Short Churchill at 250 DH is its robusto, the most requested format at the counter; the Wide Churchills at 260 DH, thicker and shorter, the open-air vitola. The tube versions cost 20 to 30 DH more per stick.

The Línea de Oro: Hidalgos and Nobles

Vitola Per stick January 2026 The box of 20
Hidalgos 650 DH unchanged 13,000 DH
Nobles 700 DH unchanged 14,000 DH

Launched in 2020, the Línea de Oro is the brand’s top of the range, two large, thick vitolas sold in boxes of 20, spared by the April increase. This is the only tier of the list where Romeo y Julieta reaches the tariff of the classic Cohibas: the Nobles at 700 DH is worth a Cohiba Coronas Especiales.

A Mini at 10 DH against a Coronas at 150 DH: fifteen times less for the same band, while you learn the gestures. Our guide to cigarillos details what the small format offers — and what it does not replace.

Where to find them in Morocco

In the five official Habanos shops — the Casa del Habano in Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech, and the Habanos Especialist at M Avenue — supplied by Altadis Maroc, the exclusive distributor of Havanas for the kingdom, and, for the Romeo tubes, the Coronas and the cigarillos, in most approved tobacconists and palace-hotel humidors: it is the best distributed brand in the country. The Churchills, the Línea de Oro and the Cedros de Luxe are asked for at the counter. Our guide to where to buy covers the channel city by city.

One last word that doubles as a guarantee: a Romeo y Julieta well below the list is no bargain. A Churchills at 150 DH, a box of tubes “on offer”: that is a counterfeit or a badly kept cigar. At the official price, at the official counter — that is the whole rule, and it fits on one line.
